We formed Gulf Coast IT Solutions, LLC after spending more than 35 years in the IT industry. The first part of that 30 years was spent working for a fortune 50 Global Healthcare Company with more than 38K employees across 110 countries in IT various roles from Manufacturing, Research & Delevopment and Global IT Architecture.
After moving on from the Corporate world, we spent next 15 years working for a Global Consulting firm helping clients of all sizes navigate through the ever-changing and often complex IT enviroments.
Having spent such a long career in IT, you can imagine how I have seen things evolve. We started in networking and network design, infrastructure, and infrastructure administration. In the early 90’s in moved into Unified Commnications (Voice and Video), which eventually include contact center and omni channel. When it came to omni chanel that’s where we started working in Website design and hosting, which ultimately evolved into Social Media Marketing and metrics.
When we first got into consulting, it was more than just helping clients with complex IT problems. It was about understanding the client’s business and business processes, first. Once you gain that understanding, you can then tackle their technology problems.
By applying what we have learned over the years, we became excellent at project approaches and methodologies, costs, and the amount of resources it would take to accomplish a project on time and on budget. I have worked with some very large corporations with very tight timelines and budgets. We can recall doing a project for a large pharmaceutical company as part of an M&A project. The project took a total of 18 months and by the time we were finished, we were within .04% of what the anticipated cost was expected to be. Not bad for a multi-million dollar project.
Then COVID hit….and I have to admit I’ve enjoyed working from home but I knew I wanted to do something more. That’s when we decided to start Gulf Coast IT Solutions, LLC. We knew we wanted to focus on businesses from the small to Mid-sized companies. We have built a team of Consultants that share our same vision. Which is; to take what we have learned over very long career(s) and right-size it, in both complexity and costs for the small to midsize businesses.
